Yummie Mummie
About Us

Yvette Adams (a self-crowned 'Yummie Mummie', author, speaker, freelance writer and award winning Mumpreneur) and Jeff May (a self-crowned 'Delicious Daddie', fitness guru, business owner, author and step-father of two) had a niggling feeling that there might just be an army of parents and care givers out there who could do with a refreshing perspective on parenthood and how that applies to them.

They banded together over a bottle of wine (or two) with their respective partners in tow and the result is'this.

Yvette Adams ' Yummie Mummie

From Big Ben to the Big Pineapple, Yvette has led an exciting career as a freelance writer, speaker, author, PR/marketing consultant, online and offline editor, events manager and now mother of two, Rio aged 4 and Matisse aged 1.

Born on the fortunate cusp of Generation X & Y into a techie family which at any one time had several computers littered about the house, her entrepreneurial streak first showed through at age 17 when she started her own secondary school sports newspaper which was bought out by an American entrepreneur after its first issue. During this time she also represented New Zealand in water polo and was highly placed in national and regional events in the sports of swimming and surf-lifesaving.

She created her first e-commerce site ' an online tee-shirt business - in 2002. Within one month of launching she received a Government Grant and international website award.

In 2006 she sold the global business and concentrated on launching The Creative Collective (http://www.thecreativecollective.com.au) a creative services agency offering PR, marketing, website design, development and optimization, internet marketing, graphic design, photography and more. In 2007 she won the Queensland Small Business Champions Young Entrepreneur Award in 2007 and has been a finalist in numerous other local, regional and national business awards.

An international freelance writer of many years and a self-published author of a novel and ebooks, she has been the online content editor of a massive player in the UK magazine market (http://www.tntmagazine.com), and has consulted numerous businesses in New Zealand, the UK and Australia on their online and offline marketing strategies and built many websites.

Jeff May ' Delicious Daddie

Originally a public servant for a government department in his home town of Christchurch, New Zealand, Jeff quickly realised that private enterprise pushed his buttons more so he moved into sales, then hospitality and later into fitness. During this time he also managed to squeeze in representative athletics, extensive mountain climbing and backpacking plus a Black Belt in karate.

A strong desire to teach and educate has permeated his working life and a move to Australia has also seen an interest and a move into online businesses. Among his passions are family life, helping others with their physical goals and the very broad topics of goal setting and motivation.

Jeff continues to maintain a regular health and fitness routine and for a number of years has been operating a successful Sunshine Coast fitness centre.

Married with two step-children and the most amazing wife, he hopes his experience and understanding of being part of a blended family plus the challenges of living in a household of women will bring new perspectives to the Yummie Mummie website!

With a strong literary influence in the family (his father was a university lecturer and author, his mother and grandmother school teachers and an aunt who was a school principal) it has been a natural progression for Jeff to commence his own writing career as a published author and practiced public speaker.
