I just caught up with my best friend on the weekend on a yummiemummie weekend away – just her and four girlfriends in a beautiful apartment at Maroochydore. Three whole nights, no expectations of each other, no men and definitely no kids. They had a fabulous time shopping, sleeping, reading, eating and went home recharged and ready to face their busy lives. We recommend this as a mandatory yummiemummie activity at least once a year. Taking time out to ground yourself has to be good for you and those that count on you. Grab your bestest girlfriends, off-load the kids to their delicious dads and have that recovery weekend. It doesn't have to cost the earth; there are heaps of bargain accommodation deals on-line. Share the cost and you can have a fun and relaxed weekend and return to your family rejuvenated. This brings us to next time. What to do next? There are so many new places to explore but we love the places we have already been as well. Whether it's a weekend visiting friends in the country town where I grew up, camping in the forest or living it up in a 5 star beach resort it is bound to make precious new memories for us and the girls, just like the ones from my holidays as a child! Guess I will go check the weather report!
